    My Bad,

Jailbreaking the iPad and Unlocking the iPhone.

The U.S. Library of Congress has ruled that jailbreaking the iPad and unlocking iPhones purchased after January 2013 is no longer legal.

Jailbreaking iPhones is still allowed under exemptions to the DMCA that will be in effect for three years.

@bosun,are you sure about the illegality of jailbreaking? Because the last time I heard apple lost the case in court.

I suspect Apple, though I feel it could also be linked to the fact that jail breaking iPhone is illegal in US in 2013

Apple certainly must have something to do with those shutdowns, either by threatening to sue or settling. And if it is ever by settling, trust me, just as noted on this article, more will very likely spring up because others will now see it as a lucrative business. Set up an iOS piracy site and grow it to become very popular and be settled later by Apple.

I am not sure if we will ever
    see greater control in favour
    of Android developers due to
    the platform’s more open
    nature.

ian app verification system was implemented on Android (I think on ICS) initially, but was removed subsequently because of some implementation errors.

I believe it would be iimplemenyed again, properly, soon
