There are a lot of boring arcade games on the app markets. Also, there are some that look easy and boring, but are anything but simple. For example, there is a game called 2048, which is a simple math-based game. The objective is to add numbers up to 2048. Be warned, though: this game is super addictive!
2048 was created in 2014 by Italian web developer Gabriele Cirulli. It was created in a single weekend, and the creator had no idea that the game would become so popular, which it did. In less than a week, it had had over 4 million downloads. In May 2014, Cirulli released Android and iOS versions of the game.
2048 is played on a 4×4 grid, with numbered tiles that slide smoothly when you move the individual tiles. You add two numbers of the same value by swiping them together, and this gives you a new tile having the value of the two previous tiles. Whenever you slide a tile, a new one appears. Note that you cannot merge two tiles unless they are of the same value. When you cannot merge tiles further, and the board gets filled up, it is game over. Therefore, try as much as possible to merge tiles till you add up to 2048 before the board fills up.
Arcade games sometimes end up becoming boring when you play them for a long time. But I don’t see how this game will become boring in the long run. After all, 2048 has been on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store since 2014 and it is still getting downloads today. You can go ahead and check it out for yourself.
