ZTE nubia Z9

Forget 4GB RAM on those latest flagship mobiles. If you think devices with that are novel, you’ve just been had. ZTE’s new Android flagship gets certified in China, with a 3.5GHz octa-core CPU and 8GB RAM. And the smartphone is bezelless. Yes; the ZTE Nubia Z9.

ZTE is mad. I have nothing further to say.

  1. I no longer am freaked by specs on android devices. An app I installed on my BlackBerry ran on 8.3 mb of ram but on android devices used up 150 mb. It just shows how poorly optimized android is.

Look at the iPhone and windows phone and even the BlackBerry that runs androids own apps yet do well with what is considered poor specs.
My point is android needs to look inward and optimize adding more ram and cores ain’t cutting it.

  2. @Goodbess, your point doesn’t light a fire in my tail.

What you are doing is comparing the speed of a Chevrolet Camaro in traffic in Iyana Ipaja, Lagos, with that of that same car on a traffic_free expressway. Android does plenty. That’s why that Camaro needs that expressway to express it’s self without restriction

  3. I had wanted to say the same thing but not with a camaro, but a benz slr. As for the ZTE it’s a good sign to give the big weight a run for their money.

  4. Well the the iPhone 6+ has one gig of ram. Just one.

    My laptop has 2 gig.

    My Lumia 920 just one

    My z30 2 gig.

Yet I pick up android devices with 3 gig ram and they lag a lot. And it’s at times when it’s not doing any heavy chores.

Something is wrong. Remember how symbian ran well on 256 mb.

My point is increasing the ram won’t solve the problem, rather optimizing the os to handle resources more efficiently would be better.

  5. Good point there. Even the Motorola Nexus 6 here in the house still shows some lag. And to think it has 3GB of RAM and runs Lollipop 5.1. I taya for Android.

  6. Android lags accept it, its a fact.
iPhone is restricted in some ways and expensive its a fact.
Windows Phone doesn’t have all the apps its a fact hopefully W10 will solve the issue.

  7. droid lags a little cos of d awesome lice way it multitasks… if u want lag free over awesomeness, go to developer options in setting n choose kill every app as excited or reduce open apps from standard to 4 or less or increase min free ram

  8. this kyn gig on an mtk is pure bliss… almost lag free n never a closed app.. DAMNNNNNNN!!

  9. cos of cos Samsung n maybe other OEMS go find way to f it up, with all their s fly, s die apps

  10. droid lags a little cos of d awesome lice way it multitasks// Android lags because of the OS architecture.. Little emphasis is placed on graphics memory unlike iOS.

developer options in setting n choose kill every app as excited// This makes using the phone so annoying.

reduce open apps from standard to 4// this reverts back to standard after rebooting the phone.

increase min free ram// This will definitely require rooting and obscure processes. How many noobs will you teach that?

    Android doesn’t have it all.

  11. contrary to popular belief, it doesn’t require root, tis ryt there in settings. except in gionee where tis hidden n a simple app will suffice

  12. Aw, this was an exceptionally nice post.
Spending some time and actual effort to make a superb article… but what can I say… I procrastinate a lot
and don’t seem to get nearly anything done.
