Because we love to own the latest, where possible, I have compiled and listed below all the 5G Samsung galaxy smartphones that were released in 2023. There are 5G Samsung phones from the last two to three years still on sale, as well, if you wish to go back that far. It would be a terribly tedious work to have to list all of them, though. As such, I have limited this article to only models that hit the market this year.
Samsung Galaxy S23 FE Android smartphone
I kick things off with the S23 FE which has only just been released in October 2023. It is the 5G Samsung phone you want to buy if you don’t want to spend the price of the regular S23, but you want features and performance that are close enough. Its features include a relatively small 6.4″ AMOLED display with Corilla Glass 5, 4500 mAh battery, 128 GB and 256 GB storage options, and 8 GB RAM.
Here in the United States, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, while international markets have an Exynos 2200 processor. I am not a fan of Samsung’s habit of sometimes using different chipsets in different markets for the same phone. It complicates things for the rest of us, but it is what it is.
Samsung S23 FE is similar to Samsung A54 in many ways. As a matter of fact, i daresay they are the same device, with a few differences. The most outstanding difference for me is the presence of a telephoto camera, which the A54 lacks, in the S23 FE. The other major difference is the more capable processor in the Galaxy S23 FE. These two features clearly make the Galaxy S23 FE the better 5G Samsung Galaxy smartphone of the two.
Samsung Galaxy A54 Android smartphone
If you are after the best budget 5G Samsung Galaxy smartphone of 2023, you will be hard pressed to find one that beats the Galaxy A54. Announced in March, it combines a premium build of glass and metal, with decent mid-range performance and specs. It has a 6.4″ AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5, is powered by an Exynos 1380 chipset, and has a 5000 mAh battery with 25W fast charge. For RAM, it has two options – 6GB and 8GB. And for built-in storage, there are also two options – 128GB and 256GB.
The price starts from around $280. A-Series Samsung phones pack a lot of value for money, and the sales figures confirm that. The Galaxy A54 is much loved and is hard to beat as a budget 5G Samsung Galaxy phone.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Android smartphone
Samsung S23 Ultra is the to dog of the year in Samsung’s line-up. If you want the all-round best 5G Samsung Galaxy smartphone of 2023, this is it. It does everything better than all the other models. Well, it doesn’t fold, but neither of the two foldable Samsung devices of this year are a match for it in every other way. It sports a big 6.8″ AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, 5000 mAh battery, up to 1 TB storage, and options of 8GB and 12 GB RAM. Its price starts from around $400 in the United States.
Samsung Galaxy A34 Android smartphone
The Galaxy A34 is mostly the same device as the A54, but with a 6.6″ display, and a Dimensity 1080 chipset, making it a decent budget 5G Samsung Galaxy phone. This places just below the Galaxy A54 in order of capabilities and rank.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Android smartphone
With its 6.1-inch AMOLED display, Samsung Galaxy S23 is compact, but it is just as powerful as the S23 Ultra or the Galaxy Z fold5. It uses the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset in those monsters, coupled with 8GB RAM. Other features include a 3900 mAh battery, and up to 512 GB storage. Samsung Galaxy M34 5G Android smartphone
Are you looking for the 5G Samsung Galaxy phone with the best battery life? Look no further; all hail the galaxy M34 5G. The 6.5-inch display, coupled with the Exynos 1280 chipset, and a 6000 mAh battery, is why it holds that title. So, if longer battery life is important to you, this is the 5G Samsung phone that you want to buy.
Samsung Galaxy A14 5G Android smartphone
This is the most affordable 5G Samsung Galaxy smartphone released in 2023. It was announced in January 2023 and it hit the market that same month. Its key features include 6.6″ PLS LCD display, a Mediatek Dimensity 700 chipset in the United States and an Exynos 1330 chipset in Europe and elsewhere (again, Samsung is messing with us).
The U.S. version has 4GB RAM and 64 GB built-in storage. Elsewhere, it has 6GB RAM and 128 GB storage. Battery capacity is 5000 mAh battery with 15W charging. In the USA, the price starts from around $200 but is available at a discounted price of $100 here and there.
Samsung Galaxy S23+ Android smartphone
Announced and released along with the other regular Galaxy S23 models in February 2023, the S23 Plus is a powerhouse that swaps a bigger display for the S23’s small one. It shares most other features and is just as powerful and as capable as the other S23 models.
Samsung Galaxy F54 Android smartphone
One of the lesser known 5G Samsung Galaxy smartphones, features of the F54 include a 6.7″ display, Exynos 1380 chipset, 6000 mAh battery, 256 GB storage, and 8 GB RAM. In many ways, it is a clone of the Galaxy A54 and is available in limited markets.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 Android smartphone
The Galaxy Fold5 is a distinctive device. It unfolds open from a regular brick or candy form factor into a book format device with a bigger 7.6″ screen for you to enjoy faster downloads, instant streaming, and much more with 5G technology. On the inside is the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset as the other Samsung flagships, a 4400 mAh battery, up to 1 TB storage, and 12 GB RAM.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 Android smartphone
On the flip side (pun intended), the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 is a clamshell device that opens up into a normal candy bar form with a 6.7″ display. Inside is the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, 3700 mAh battery, up to 512 GB storage, and 8 GB RAM. One weak point is the shorter battery life when compared to everything else listed on this page.
Samsung Galaxy M14 Android smartphone
Samsung M14 is pretty much a clone of the Galaxy A14 5G made available for some regions. It features a 6.6″ display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5, Exynos 1330 chipset, 6000 mAh battery, up to 128 GB storage, and up to 6 GB RAM.
Samsung Galaxy F34 Android smartphone
Announced in August 2023, the Galaxy F34 has a 6.5″ display and is powered by an Exynos 1280 chipset, along with up to 8 GB RAM. There is a massive 6000 mAh battery to keep the phone going for longer hours, helping it to share the position of the 5G Samsung Galaxy smartphone with the best battery life with the Galaxy M34 5G.
Samsung Galaxy F14 Android smartphone
Last on our list but not the least (see, I’ve got rhymes) is the Galaxy F14 and if you guessed right, it is a clone of the A14 5G. Features include a 6.6″ display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5, Exynos 1330 chipset, 6000 mAh battery, 128 GB storage, and 6 GB RAM. The 6000 mAh battery makes for extended periods of use and is a contender for the title of the 5G Samsung Galaxy phone with the best battery life.
Are there any unlocked 5G Samsung Galaxy smartphones under $100?
Unfortunately, 5G technology in phones has not trickled down to the $100 mark. As at the time of writing this article, there are no locked or unlocked 5G smartphones below $100.
