A closer look at the Infinix XUI Lollipop update and more info

A while ago, we announced the availability of the Infinix XUI Lollipop update for Infinix phones. This was a customized version of Lollipop for the Infinix Zero 2,and all the variants of the Infinix Hot Note (this includes the Hot Note Pro and Hot Note 16 GB + 2GB).

The XUI software is based on Android Lollipop, hence it comes with all the design cues of the new OS. During my brief hands-on with it, the software ran smoothly and was responsive. Below are a few screenshots of the XUI:

It also has a Themes feature which is really cool.

If you want the upgrade, sad to say, it’s not available over-the-air. You’ll need a PC and some tools to do that. Download the software version for your device HERE. Then follow the instructions HERE on how to install it. Another option is to walk down to the Infinix stand in a SLOT store closest to you, and ask for your upgrade. Please note that this may not be available in all the stores.

Now to some other juicy info. Credible sources have confirmed the 3000 mAh battery for the Hot 2 is already in stock and will be available for purchase soonest. Infinix is also preparing to launch another device this November, the Infinix Hot Note 2.

    1. that would be silly unless (even if?) there’s an option to disable it. that Hot Note 2 had better be an Android One device
