Alcatel Pixi 3 smartphones will run Android, Windows and Firefox

Alcatel is taking the bull by the horns in pursuing an OS-agnostic approach to smartphones. The company is introducing a smartphone that offers consumers the choice of three operating systems.

Alcatel Pixi 3 – 3 sizes; 3 platforms

Alcatel Pixi 3 is actually a range of one model with different display sizes – 3.5 (3G model), 4, 4.5, and 5 inches. The bigger three devices offer 4G LTE and will also be available with choices of Firefox OS, Windows OS or Android OS, giving consumers the choices that they deserve. Just pick a model and the OS of your choice.

Alcatel Pixi 3 OS Agnostic

Alcatel already manufactures different smartphones running the three different mobile OSes. However, the Pixi 3 is their first effort at offering consumers the choice of picking what OS they want on a specific unified hardware, similar to how HTC produced the HTC One M8 with Android and Windows versions. Hopefully, we shall see more initiatives like this as the years go by.

  1. it would be interesting to see the pricing, too high and the Firefox OS variant is overpriced. low enough to be in Firefox OS range and it’ll be too cheap to pack decent hardware specs to run Android well. so the Windows (for Phone) variant will probably be the most viable option
