This is the first post in a series of posts that I will be making about games that I’m playing on Android at the moment. I thought some of the information might come in handy for our readers who are into gaming on mobile.
This is an awesome puzzle game in which images are pixelated and then scattered in such a way that you have to find the perfect angle to solve the puzzle.
It is also a time based game, so you have to solve the puzzle before time runs out, else it will be game over. Solve the puzzle on time and more time will be given to you. This is a good challenging game for people that love solving puzzles and you should definitely check it out. It is available for free on the Play Store.
Jetpack Joyride is also another interesting game that I am playing at the moment. The rule of the game is simple really: just tap the screen to power your jetpack which also doubles as a machine gun. You have to avoid lasers and missiles and then collect spin tokens that you can use when game is over to get extra coins or boosts.
All in all, the game is very interesting. I finished it at a go (also killing my phone battery in the process). Do check it out. If you love side-scrolling action games, Jetpack Joyride will not disappoint you.
Major Mayhem is also a very nice action game that keeps me busy from time to time. In this game, you are a soldier who is deployed by the United States president to save the world from the dogs of war and their dangerous ninjas in the tropics. The terrorists have also kidnapped your girlfriend.
You have to go from the tropics to Metropolis to the desert before you finally encounter the last boss who is the president who sent you on the quest in the first place. The game is full of shooting, ninjas, mobs, chickens and just plain old fun. There are also power-ups, costumes, valuables such as coins dropped when you rescue hostages, and a whole lot of additional content to keep things interesting.
Do check it out if tapping games are your thing as you will tap a lot of enemies to death 🙂
Pitfall for Android is a classic remake of the second bestselling Atari game in 1982 by Activision. The game is swipe and motion based, much like Temple Run for example. Here, you are an explorer running away from a volcano. There are obstacles on the way which you have to avoid by combining swiping and using the accelerometer to move left or right.
In the game, you also collect coins, which you can use to purchase extra in-game content such as costumes and power-ups. The game first starts up in 2D view, then gradually moves to 3D view as you progress. When you first launch the game, the start-up is in 8 bit graphics like the days of old when it was originally created. Pretty sweet, I might add.
Temple Run 2
With its recent release on Android, Temple Run 2 is the sequel to the highly popular game from Imangi Studios. The graphics is clean with introduction of new elements to the game. Personally I’m not a fan of the game as opposed to a certain Doctor who praises the game to high heavens. But, I have to admit that the game is indeed good after a few runs with it.
As usual, you have to swipe left and right to turn at corners, swipe down to duck and up to jump. There is a new revamped menu that improves on the first iteration of the game so you can indeed install Temple Run 2 for some running away from demons action.
That’s all Folks
Those are the games that I’m currently rocking. Next week, I shall be treating you to more games that have kept me company. You can also list games that are currently making you happy on your phone/tablet in the comments section below. Cheers!
