Apple got more demand than they bargained for as pre-order sales for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus hits 4 million in just 24 hours, the highest in the company’s history.
The number of orders for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus now sets a new record for the company, as it surpassed it’s previous record that estimated at 2.2 million pre-orders for the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c. Due to the high number of demands, majority will still be able to get the iPhone in September as promised while others will have to wait till next month.
CEO of Apple, Tim Cook said:
“iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are better in every way, and we are thrilled customers love them as much as we do,” “Pre-orders for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus set a new record for Apple, and we can’t wait to get our best iPhones yet into the hands of customers starting this Friday.”
iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will be available in the US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore and the UK beginning this Friday, September 19 and in more than 20 additional countries beginning on Friday, September 26.
It’s not yet known when it will officially be available in the African market but hopefully soon. The iPhone 6 comes in gold, silver or space gray.
