Another record broken!! Apple just made an announcement. They’ve sold over 13 million units of the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. This is an incredible feat, given that the devices were only made available in the US and China. It’s also good to know the sales record was hit just 3 days after the official sales began.
The previous record was the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, which sold 10 million units after two days of sales.
In the words of Apple CEO, Tim Cook:
“Sales for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have been phenomenal, blowing past any previous first weekend sales results in Apple’s history,”
“Customers’ feedback is incredible and they are loving 3D Touch and Live Photos, and we can’t wait to bring iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus to customers in even more countries on October 9.”
Apple didn’t clearly separate sales figures for each of the two phones. They also didn’t reveal numbers for those that purchased using the upgrade program. The new iPhone will be opened for sale in other places starting October 9, and Apple hopes to do so in 120 countries worldwide.
