Mister Mo published his TECNO L9 Plus review a week ago. If you haven’t read it, you should. I am a fan of smartphones with big screens, and the main reason is because I watch series and movies a lot on my phone. So, you can imagine my excitement when the L9 Plus arrived and I had the chance to put it to use. A phone with a 5,000 mAh battery? Awesome.
Why The TECNO L9 Plus is great for Videos
My experience with the TECNO L9 Plus tells me that everything about the TECNO L9 Plus seems to have been designed to make video watching convenient and stress-free. I don’t know if video was what TECNO had in mind, but it works. If they weren’t thinking of video, they need to start marketing it as the phone for video lovers.
TECNO markets the L9 Plus with the catchphrase, “Bigger and Longer” (what does that remind you of?). Truly, the phone is big. It has a 6-inch display that is bright and clear. Nothing beats a big screen for watching videos. I like.
The L9 Plus has 16 GB built in storage, which is not so big in 2017. But it also has a dedicated micro-SD card slot that supports up to 128 GB memory cards. I do not have a card that big, but I haven’t needed it. The phone has USB-OTG which allows me to plug in flash drives. And I regularly get tons of series from friends. I just plug my flash drive in and watch my movies.
What is the use of a big screen for videos if your battery runs out in no time? The 5000 mAh battery of the TECNO L9 Plus is just perfect. The big screen and big battery means that I get to watch my videos without a care.
A big battery is great, but filling it up can be a pain in the neck if fast charging is not available. Thankfully, the L9 Plus passes that test. It goes from an empty battery to 40% in 30 minutes. That is 2,000 mAh in 30 minutes. Which is good.
When fully charged, I go about my tasks for the day without a care in the world. It regularly sees me through two days on a full charge. And when I have to watch videos, it just goes on and on and on.
The L9 Plus reminds me of the Infinix Note 3, but is one ahead. The L9 Plus’ battery is bigger and lasts longer too. I have travelled all day and sometimes all night with the Note 3 – watching videos – and it held up. I haven’t had a reason to travel with the L9 Plus, but from its performance in my hands, I am confident that it will do better. I cannot recommend the TECNO L9 Plus enough.
