I have been asked often enough whether Android and iOS users will get to enjoy BBM Channels on their devices. Some have supposed that Channels are exclusively for BlackBerry devices and that other platforms would not include that feature. However, BlackBerry has made an official statement that puts an end to any speculations. The below quote is from a press release from BlackBerry:
The BBM experience will continue to evolve for Android and iPhone® users in the coming months, with updates that will include support for BBM Channels, a new service that connects BBM users to communities of shared interests in a very engaging and intimate manner, as well as support for BBM Voice calling and BBM Video calling.
There you have it: BBM Channels is coming to Android and iOS.
