The new Private Chat feature introduced on BBM is a welcome development. Here is how it works: a private chat lets you send sensitive messages without worrying about the indiscretion of the other party.
In a BBM private chat, there are no names, no profile pictures displayed, plus the chat ends automatically after a short period of time. Even if the other person takes a screenshot of the chat, there is nothing to identify both parties.
Private Chat is included in the new Privacy and Control Subscription, which includes the existing Timed and Retracted Messages Subscription.
If you want the Privacy and Control bundle, it will cost you just $0.99 per month. In my opinion, it is worth every cent. Go update your BBM app for BlackBerry 10, Android and iOS to get this new privacy feature. As always, the feature is expected later on Windows Phone.
