The second generation device of the Nokia X software platform, the X2, has been announced. The question is, what is different?
- there’s a new cool translucent outer layer similar to what some Asha phones have had
- for easier navigation, there’s now a home button alongside the back button
- there’s now an ‘apps list’, so only your most used apps need be pinned to the home screen
- press and hold Back button to bring up the list of running/recent apps, with the option to close them
Besides these new additions, the Nokia X2 has 4.3-inch ClearBlack display, a 5 megapixel camera with flash and auto focus on the back as well as a front-facing camera, Microsoft apps and services, as well as Android app compatibility.
According to the Microsoft announcement, the Nokia X2 is “available immediately in select countries globally”. Details of specific countries are yet to be known.
