Bing now gives special recognition to mobile optimized websites

The focus on mobile is increasing tremendously as days go by. If you recall, Google started giving preference to mobile optimized websites. The penalty for defaulters was that your site will have lower index if it’s not optimized for mobile.

Bing.com has just joined the movement, though on a lesser scale. When one makes a search, it indicates mobile friendly sites for you (see screenshot).

Now we have the privilege of knowing which of the sites to click on. Unlike Google, Microsoft’s Bing won’t lower the index of your site if it isn’t mobile friendly. This is further indication to website owners to see the many advantages of making their sites mobile friendly.

  1. By the way, Elroy, you forgot to point out that Google’s mobile-friendliness higher index affects only searches made from a mobile.
