BlackBerry 10 Mini Jam in Lagos generates buzz

Nigeria is a BlackBerry stronghold and it was appropriate to see over seventy entrepreneurial mobile developers from the Nigerian developer community attend the BlackBerry® 10 Mini Jam developer event in Lagos.

There was a high level of interest among participants in designing apps for the forthcoming BlackBerry® 10 platform.

There was a competition at the event, and the BlackBerry application “Make We Bet” was chosen by the attending delegates as the most innovative application, winning a BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha prototype for mobile development, and a BlackBerry® Playbook™ tablet. William Ukoh, the creator of “Make We Bet” said:

“For some years, BlackBerry has been an appealing platform for me and my colleagues. I wanted to take the opportunity to meet with my peers and learn more about the BlackBerry platform. The experience has been worthwhile.”

The first BlackBerry 10 devices are expected on the shelves in the first quarter of 2013.
