BlackBerry acquires mobile security firm for $425 million

BlackBerry has just acquired a mobile security firm, Good Technology for a reported sum of $425 million. This move helps BlackBerry cover more ground in the mobile enterprise security platform.


Good Technology is said to be strong in iOS and Windows platform, and considering that Blackberry has secured the Android side of things, it appears this move was the best thing they had to do. BlackBerry is also considering a switch to a subscription business. This is in line with what’s already in place at Good Technologies.

The company serves more than 6,000 organizations worldwide in industries such as financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, energy and utilities, etc Good makes products for managing and securing mobile data and devices in a business environment.
