I was doing an audit of apps on my BlackBerry smartphone today. Going through the list of installed apps, when I ran into BlackBerry Maps, it dawned on me that this was the one app that I don’t use. I remember trying it once sometime ago, and finding it not capable enough. It was hardly useful for finding any location here. Perhaps, it has more detailed maps for other countries and so is more useful there, but it is the one app on Blackberry that I do not bother with anymore.
Since then, I usually delete it off my BlackBerry smartphones to make room for other apps. For maps and navigation, my first choice is Nokia Maps any day, and where not available, I settle for Google Maps.
Again, this could just be exclusive to my experience with Blackberry Maps. How many of you BlackBerry fans out there find the built-in Maps application and services useful? Do share your experiences.
