BlackBerry may have adopted Android OS as their smartphone platform, but they are not done yet with the hardware QWERTY keyboard. The Priv was their first Android phone with a hardware keyboard. Another one is on the way.
Not much is known about the expected smartphone but rumours tout the following:
- Android 7.0 Nougat
- 4.5-inch touchscreen display
- 2 GHz Octa-core Qualcomm processor
- 3GB of RAM
- 32GB of storage
- 18 MP rear camera
- 8 MP selfie snapper
- 3,400 mAh battery
From the rumoured size of the display, it sounds like this will be a device in the form of the BlackBerry Classic. In other words, the keyboard will not be a slider.
I am not sure that I am a fan of that display size in this day and age (especially considering how much the device is likely to cost). I would have expected at least 5 inches. Everything else rumoured about the expected device tickles me fine though.
Lastly, I hear that it is called Mercury in-house. What do you think of the above specs of the BlackBerry Mercury?
