RIM has announced the BlackBerry Tag service to it’s new BlackBerry OS 7 enabled phones. BlackBerry Tag service will allow users to share contact information, files, photos and other multimedia content by enabling the NFC gateway on the phone and tapping the other phone together to initiate the transfer.
BlackBerry Tag can be used in only two BlackBerry devices now, The BlackBerry Bold 9900 and the BlackBerry Curve 9360. From this announcement from RIM, it’s clear that BlackBerry is trying to keep up with other mobile manufacturers like Nokia, who also backed NFC (Near Field Communication) as well.
