In the build up to the release of the Windows 9 (Threshold), Microsoft’s virtual assistant which was introduced on Windows 8.1, has been seen in the latest OS.

That might not be news, but the big deal about this is that, according to reports from Neowin, the virtual assistant Cortana has being promoted from an experimental phase or engineering build to a more stable release cycle. which means that Cortana is likely going to be in the OS final release.

For now Cortana is a stand alone app in the Windows 9 build and will take about 25% of the screen. After seeing the demo in a video, it functions pretty much the same way it does on the Windows Phone. but it will be more reasonable if Cortana is fully integrated into the OS like it is on the Windows Phone.
