There is a new version of Facebook in town and it is targeted at users in areas of limited network connectivity, 2G network data, as well as need affordable access. Say hello to Facebook Lite.

The regular Facebook mobile app is notorious for its hogging of system resources and data guzzling. This has been a problem to users in regions around the world where cost of living is low and mobile network is limited or unreliable.

Facebook Lite was designed from the ground up to address these issues.

The Facebook Lite app is:

  8. Zimbabwe

The app was initially available for both Android and iOS devices, but in 2020, Facebook announced that it would discontinue the iOS version due to low usage. Apparently, iPhone users do not care much for the benefits of the app.
