For some time now, Facebook Messenger has stood alone from the Facebook app. This independence makes it a more powerful messenger service, but it also makes it a huge strain on your battery and phone memory. Here are some of the most common Facebook Messenger problems and how to solve them:
WHEN YOU CAN’T SEND OR RECEIVE MESSAGES
If you try to send a message on Facebook Messenger and it does not deliver, do not worry. First of all, check if the app is up to date. You could also try the mobile site if the app is not connecting. Sometimes, too, Facebook Messenger might be down in your area. In this case, just relax and wait for it to come back on.
ALL/SOME OF YOUR MESSAGES DISAPPEARED
If you accidentally deleted your messages, there’s nothing you can do. They are gone. However, if you archived them, then you can retrieve them. Go to the mobile or desktop site, click on the Messages button and then click on See All > More > Archived (for desktop users) or tap on See All Messages, scroll to the bottom of the page, then press View Archived Messages (on the mobile site). Then see if you can find the message you want.
FACEBOOK MESSENGER IS NOT WORKING
This is one of the biggest Facebook Messenger problems. If your app gives you a blank screen or an error message, there are a few things to try. First, check that your Android OS is up to date. If not, update it. if the problem persists, go to Settings > Applications > Application Manager > All > Messenger > Clear Data > Clear Cache. Also, your app itself might not be up to date. If this is the case, go to the Play Store, tap on the Menu button, then tap on My apps & Games. Check if your Messenger app is among the apps awaiting an update. If it is, tap on the Update button. If that does not work, uninstall the app and reinstall it.
