A first look at the Apple iPod Touch 5th Gen

Posted by

Hello there, long time no see 🙂 We have an iPod Touch 5th Gen in-house, many thanks to a kindhearted friend that gifted it to me. The device has been with me for some weeks now, though I haven’t had time to use it – no thanks to NYSC camp (expect a post on my camp adventures 😉 )

Meanwhile, here’s a brief hands on review and first look with the Apple iPod Touch 5th Gen:

Apple iPod 5th Gen (1)

At first look, you might confuse this with a phone, but when you put it on, the name ‘iPod’ is written on the top left corner. This device has a 4-inch screen and best of all, it’s super sleek. There’s a 1.2 MP FaceTime HD (selfie) camera in the front, and a 5 MP iSight (back) camera with LED flash.

Trust me, the image output is awesome despite the low megapixel count. The circle on the bottom left side is a kind of button. When pressed, it comes up. This serves as a latch, in case you want to use straps or a rope with the iPod. At the very top lies the power button, then on the left side is the volume buttons.

Apple iPod 5th Gen (2)On the bottom side, you find a 3.5 mm earphone jack, the lightning connector port and inbuilt speakers. This iPod is basically an iPhone 5s with no SIM slot, as they share the same camera module and screen – except for the lesser RAM size.

This iPod has Wifi and full support for apps and games. It’s has already become my close companion for a whole lot of reasons. Stay tuned as I would be sharing more of my experiences with this device.
