Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped is a pop-up error that has been around on Android OS for ages without a permanent fix. It also seems to have a long history with Samsung devices. This error popped up often while we were reviewing the Samsung Galaxy A5 2017. What is the cause of this error and what can you do to fix it? We show you.
What Causes This Problem?
The android.process.acore has stopped error is connected with a problem in your phone’s acore (Account Core). This means that the problem could have to do with your mobile contacts list synced via Google, your Google calendar, or even email.
Solutions To the android.process.acore has stopped Problem
There are a few things you can do to solve the problem. Here they are:

Remove your Google accounts
Got into Settings –> accounts to remove your Google account. After that, you can restart your smartphone and then re-add the removed accounts. Make sure your contacts and calendars are fully synced before you do this.

Clear Core Apps Data
Go into Settings –> Contacts sync adapter –> clear data. You can clear Gmail and Calendar sync data as well. Please ensure that all your contacts and calendar entries are synced or backed up before doing this. After clearing data, you may need to set up your account afresh.

Check for a disabled core app
This error can spring up if you have disabled a core Android/Google app e.g. Gmail, Calendar, etc. Simply go to your app list in Settings and re-enable the app.

Factory Reset
This should be a last resort where all else has failed. Remember to backup your files, as a factory reset will wipe out everything on your phone. Go to Settings –> Applications –> Manage Applications –> All (button on the top that lets you see all applications) –> scroll down to “Contacts Storage” –> Click on “Clear Data”.
