Three US-based chipmakers, Qualcomm, Intel, and Xilinx, are arguing that the Huawei ban is bad for US businesses. According to them, the ban will see US companies recording billions of dollars in losses. They advocate that the US government eases its restrictions on the Chinese company.
The chipmakers say that Huawei’s smartphones and computer hardware do not carry the same security risk as its 5G networking equipment and so should be exempted from the ban.
