Glo Website Reveals Updated Internet Bundles

The Globacom website has been updated to reflect enhancements to some of the company’s bundle Internet plans.

Glo Always Min now offers 3GB bundle data instead of the old 1.5GB allowance. Subscription fee is still N5,000.

Glo Always Micro now offers 200MB as against the old figure of 150MB. Cost remains N1,000.

G300 now offers 9GB from the old 4GB data allowance.

  1. Which kain bad thing be this. I just subscribed for G Leisure over the weekend for the same N5,000/3GB that Always MIN now offers πŸ™

Looking forward to next month sha πŸ˜‰

Thanks for the update as I’ve updated my post too πŸ˜‰

  2. thank God I didn’t subscribe for the g300 again, I will just do the always min straight once this always micro finishes. But guys, can anyone tell me why mtn should still have so many subscribers for data when glo is giving so much more for less? considering the fact that glo is always giving me 3G anywhere I go in lagos .

    1. How did you configure your glo always micro on Android… pls help me as i am stuck here

  3. mtn has this ‘invisible force’ with them..everything about them is expensive yet people use them…call rates, data and everything!……the new glo data plans are worthwhile but until they start thinkin of mobile plans too….they wouldnt gain popularity that much…make the 100naira plans available like mtn….push settings to all phones..make all lines old and new data enabled by default..by the time i use glo on my phone and i appreciate the service rendered, i would do the system plans and recommend them too!

    1. I feel you bro, the idea of using gloflat settings on the phone makes some things not to work properly. My last phone 5800 could not connect my pc to web easily, I could hardly use Ovi maps in online mode and something I get this too much connection error. But using the same gloflat settings on c7-00 is a totally different experience. But if we could use the default glo direct, glo mobile internet and secure settings things will be a lot more easire esp. For non- I.T oriented guys

    2. no, they should nt do phone plan it ll cause traffic in the network. they know best, u can still use its 1000 on phone ,,
me i use always mini on phone and pc.
phon plans ll slow d network.

    3. Actually they now do. But apparently you can only subscribe by looging unto hsi.glo.com

      They are:

  4. I’m still struggling trying to get Glo customer care representatives to activate my line. By the way, the so much talked about Glo 3G coverage is elusive in my area – Okota Lagos.

  5. Let me attempt an answer to your question Mr Belushi, reason why many still stick to MTN is because it is the primary line the use and are known with on the the phone. Particularly those who connect to internet through their phone modem (Bluetooth or Cable). Using MTN on their phone will give them the opportunity to receive calls and messages while still on the net without having to swap sims which will make them unreachable. so the issue of primary line is because MTN was the first to aarive and have been accepted by many though with their errant network and unstalble billing.

Secondly activating some other sims for internet (especially GLO) is awesome where MTN sends this without subscribers request.

Thirdly, despite the offer of higher data caps by GLO, yet there are so many who will prefer subscribing to the daily plan of N100.00 which Glo did not offer. For instance except for heavy user of internet, it looks more reasonable for a casual user to buy an Etisalat Card of N200.00 and use it for call and yet have 15mb bonus data allocate to his use for 7days.

So also Airtel, recently they have introduced the N100 data plan through which thy allocate 20mb for for 24hrs +. All these are not found in Glo. You should remember MTN started the N100.00 data plan. These, I believe may be some of the reasons why MTN is having so many subscribers for data when glo is giving so much more for less.

  6. Please can anyone confirm that airtel has up’ed their lite plan to 200MB, and for Christ sakes MTN should just follow the line and up their data bundle limits to 200MB

  7. Jose u just spoke my mind…mobile data is very important even if not more important than system….it helps to create awareness bout other packages!

  8. Jose, I do agree with you. however, I think its more costly sticking to mtn, our original sim, just for the sake of being our most popular no. my mtn no is everywhere bearing my record, medicals, educational, career e.t.c. But glo offers me same if not better services (data & voice) at 50% less the cost on mtn. The solution! get a glo sim to use on your adored smartphone and keep the mtn in one small phone just for whoever wants to call it. the last time I subscribed to mtn data plan was 2 years ago. Their last credit I loaded was a gift some 4-5months ago.

  9. more new plans : always macro N3000 for 1gb/30days, instant surf N100 for 10mb/1day and this week N400 for 50mb/7days

  10. Well, for y’all hating MTN, the truth is that MTN is d most stable n consistent network. In addition to that, their 3G service is more widespread than that of all the other networks put together.

So if u are wondering why people are stuck with them, this is why…………………..I won’t pay cheap for service I wont enjoy, I will pay more but get the job done!!!! Kapisce!!!!

    1. Well, for y’all hating MTN, the truth is that MTN is d most stable n consistent network. In addition to that, their 3G service is more widespread than that of all the other networks put together.

While I am not an MTN hater, the above statement, sir, is a complete fallacy. Nothing could be further from the truth. I am a researcher, and facts on ground show that the above claim is totally false.

Unless, of course, you have access to figures that the rest of us are not privy to. Cheers.

  11. Malik,

Where did the info on those new plans come from? They are not available on the Glo website yet.

The Always Macro plan is going to be the most attractive for the average smartphone power user.

    1. Brymay,

I did check that page before asking my question, but till now it gives me an ‘invalid server name’ or ‘server not found’ error when I attempt to load it.

      Thanks, guys, for the heads-up.

  12. GLO IS WICKED! UNLESS THEY PUSH SETTINGS AUTOMATICALLY TO PHONES, THEY CAN GIVE 2G FOR 85 NAIRA,YET THEY MAY NOT OUTWIT MTN NOT TO MENTION ETISALAT-WHOSE 3G IS ABOUT TO BE LAUNCHED. FOR THOSE TALKING ABOUT CANT DO WITHOUT MTN SIM-GET A TWO SIM INTERNET PHONE

  13. @ Yomi,
from my experience, the hsi glo page only opens on a phone connected to the gloflat apn.
it will still open even if you do not currently have a subscription, and you can subscribe to any of the plans from the hsi page insyead from using traditonal sms codes.

    1. Bily,

Thanks. I am aware of those factors you listed. My line has an active Gloflat subscription with the correct settings. Still getting those errors.

      Cheers.

    2. try connecting with your phone native browser, or use your phone as a modem or Wifi tethering then connect with Internet explorer

    3. Try connecting with your phone native browser, or use your phone as a modem or Wifi tethering then connect with Internet explorer, and make sure you have data coverage available (try opening other web pages).

  14. Glo will always be my first love. They are the ones who saved us from MTN’s tyranny. When MTN told us there could be nothing like per second billing or that sim cards can only be bought for N20,000. MTN told us cards can only be made for N1,500. I could go on and on. That network is imbued with the South African hatred for Nigerians. Glo saved us from them. The final game changer will be number portability, when that happens that network will be obliterated.
    Cheers

  15. I forgot to mention Glo infinito. How can a call from my Glo line to an Airtel line be far cheaper than MTN to MTN. Those guys are crooks.

  16. yomi,
lm using glo now, i wanted to go for 1.5 gig, after my subscription i saw 3072MB (3 gig + 72MB),
    stop ur doubt

    1. Ifeanyi, you said:

      yomi,
lm using glo now, i wanted to go for 1.5 gig, after my subscription i saw 3072MB (3 gig + 72MB),
      stop ur doubt

Where I come from, asking for the source of published information on a professional site like MobilityNigeria is not considered doubting. It Is called being thorough.

      Cheers.

  17. @jujukemist, here is calling your attention to the fact that your comment above was written in all caps. Is it possible that you’re not aware of this? You might want to look into it as writing in all caps makes it difficult for the reader to read your comment, plus it is considered screaming when you write in all caps. Just thought to call your attention to this as those who are in the know might interpret your comment as being rude. Thanks.

  18. @brymay, Ifeanyi, Yomi & Douglas, the hsi.glo.com wasn’t accessible on opera when I checked, but could view it through skyfire on my phone with all the new offerings there. I think that site gets updated first before the gloworld.com page. I don’t think Yomi doubts the update, its just cause he couldn’t access the site just as I couldn’t initially.
@Emeka, u r going too far, call from glo to mtn is cheaper than mtn to mtn sef.
@Walter Smith, thank God we all have freedom to choose, if mtn is your pancake , enjoy it. but for me….naaa. even my wife that uses mtn bis will be defecting to glo this month as their service is very erratic. she keeps begging to use my glo internet each time mtn disappoints her.

  19. Good news for glo subscribers but i dont see this being successful yet until glo goes back to the basics…
    1. make things easy by pushing settings and make the settings for laptop and phone Same!
    2. Increase d 3.5G coverage as fast as possible!

But i trust MTN…they wont be Sleeping, they’ll bring out another ‘FREE’ thing for nigerians..magic no, xtracool et al…cos they know thats what they love and that wld bring down glo’s hype!

    1. You know there is one major advantage to having different setting for the bundled data and the per second data.
The advantage is that if your data bundle finishes, you do not run the risk of wiping off the credit remaining on your phone by accidentally continuing the browse on per kb basis.
Unlike what happens with MTN and Airtel

  20. @Ifeanyi
    you said:
lm using glo now, i wanted to go for 1.5 gig,
    after my subscription i saw 3072MB (3 gig +
    72MB),
    stop ur doubt
Actually, 3072MB is the same as 3GB not 3GB +72MB. 1GB is equal to 1024MB.

  21. @harry
please get me right when i wrote 3 gig + 72 MB,
don’t you know that the 72MB there is a bonus? or you just want to talk

    @yomi
perhaps you may enter Nigerian Force like Police to do that your ‘being thorough’.
to me here, glo is the leading network in terms of internet. mtn can never be my only option because only glo edge network seems like 3.5G in my eyes.

before now,i hate glo with passion!!! but come to think of it, they now has the cheapest call rate to all networks at 25k/sec , no daily fee like etisalat, no first minute high charge like airtel and mtn.

    1. ifeanyi,

You will do well to be less brash and pay more attention to what others say.

Harry is right. There is no bonus 72MB on what you got. 1GB is indeed equal to 1024MB. Hence, when Glo gives you 3GB, what you get is 1024MB x3 = 3072MB.

There is no bonus there. You got exactly 3GB sir.

  22. @ifeanyi, please try and be civil with your words. MobilityNigeria as you must have noticed is a site with respectable gentlemen and women sharing knowledge.

  23. Saw an advert in the papers where glo advertised 300mb for 1k.

Glo gives more data but the stress of getting the setting is just unacceptable.

  24. Via Glo’s facebook page:
Glo is pleased to launched new HSI plans which are tailored to suit usage on handsets, smart
    phones & tablets.
    Plan Name: Always… Macro
    Service Rental: N3,000

    Validity Period: 30 days
    Code: *127*54#
    SMS to 127: β€˜54’

  25. wit dis daily, weekly plans and Glo infinito GLO has beat all other network hands down,. I love healthy compitetions,. Am even considering airtel 3k 4 1gb., but see.. Glo has responded. Thank God i hav unlock my empty N fastlink now it works wit any sim,. I think glo new macro 3k-1gb is 4 me.,. Wit glo 3.5g in my area streaming wit my E5 is enjoyable. Still saving and waiting 4 E6.,
    Thank you Nokia
    Thank you Glo.

  26. hi…pls help i’ve activated the always macro on my line but i want to use it on my iphone 3gs..i need the manual config as it doesnt bill from my plan but from my CREDIT..i really need it to work as 3k is not easy o

  27. helo houx, i was tryn to subscribe for glo internet daily instant surf(51 to 127) but was geting a reply dat my data was nt compactible wit instant surf. Pls can smone provide a solution 4 me

  28. @Arinze, seems u still got an active bundle on ur line.
Send ‘info’ to 129. If u get a message that you hav 0mb or thereabout left, exhaust it until u recieve a message stating that the active plan has expired.
Then you can subscribe for another plan you wish.

Glo does not add up data nor expiry date for their bundles, like Airtel does, u have to finish one completely before u can subscribe to another plan. Omb in glo’s word means u still hav some kilobytes left.

I hop this solves ur problem.

    1. Yes it does. you can use it any time of the day as long as you have not exceded the 3GB data limit.

  29. Glo? Puhlease!!!

I subscribed to the always macro data bundle for my iPhone, after all my wailing on their customer care lines for more than 48hours,my data still wasnt activated! Till i went to a Globacom office to get it done manually

    The icing on the cake***

GLO 3G is non-existent!.The underground cable story is a fallacy.Bare Bullocks!.Because i dont getvwhy they be churning out shitty service.Once my bundle expires,im going to take a piss on the sim card & flush it down the damn toilet & subscribe to MTN’s.Its Expensive but Worth It!

  30. “””With the Globacom ALWAYS MACRO Internet bundle, you can now browse the internet for a month, 24/7 with just N3000, though restricted to 1G bandwidth””” I just saw this on another site

So after paying 3K! (BIS money),im restricted to 1G service!!!??? Fuckery at its best!

  31. Settings

    APN gloflat

    Username flat
    Password flat

These are the settings on my iPhone 3gs.Im sure its applicable to the android as well

I don talk my own sha…Glo no pay

  32. Does all third party applications like nimbuzz, bolt, watsapp etc. work after subsrcibing to mtn 3k BIS and on the new glo complete bis package?
