Nigerian telecom operator, Globacom, is reported to be making a bid to purchase troubled Cote d’Ivorien network, Comium for the sum of $600 million.
Globacom already has operations in Nigeria, Ghana and Benin Republic, and has an international carrier licence in Cote d’Ivoire. An acquisition of Comium in Cote d’Ivoire will give Globacom wider foothold in the West African sub-region.
