A report from an Apple supplier says that Apple will ditch the Lightning Cable for USB-C cable in upcoming iPhones, but then that isn’t much of a surprise. This has been expected for a while.
While work is allegedly going on already, the first iPhones to have USB-C may not arrive till 2020. In other words, there is no guarantee that it will happen this year.
Apple adopting USB-C has been in the grapevine for a while now. We did see USB-C introduced in the 2018 iPad Pro models, so it shouldn’t be far-fetched that the same will happen with the iPhone line-up.
It is not a question of if, but of when.
