The Android One project since inception hasn’t gone the way it was planned. We earlier reported that Google did a rethink and was planning to release a better specced Android One smartphone this July. Here we have it, I present to you the Lava Pixel V1.
The phone has a good looking design, with metal back cover and side frames, then the extremely thin bezels. Below is a brief lay down of specs:
- 3G Dual SIM.
- 5.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels.
- 1.3GHz Quad-core Mediatek MT6582 processor.
- Stock Android 5.1 Lollipop (with sure updates from Google).
- 2GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage (with microSD card slot).
- 2,650mAh battery.
- 8MP/5MP camera (with software pixel enhancement).
The Lava Pixel V1 is available for sale in India for approximately $175.

still too expensive for the stated objective, if Google wants to remove fragmentation and standardize the entry level/budget segment, they’ll need to make Android One devices cheaper
Elroy, Shebi lava is coming to Nigeria…. I have always wanted those Indian companies like micromax to come
Yeah Lava has a presence in Nigeria, but I doubt this model is in Nigeria
34,825 naira? wow Google, how very cheap #onToTheNextOne
When I see devices like this, I wonder if the Indian businesses haven’t left it a bit late to try penetrating the African market, unlike their Chinese counterparts?
In all likelihood, this may never be available in Nigeria, and if it is, on a very limited release.
The Infinix Hot Note/Pro has most specs better than this for a great deal less cash.
