Android users will soon receive the 64-bit Chrome 85 which is expected to bring an improved performance to the Android platform. Devices operating on Android 10 or higher will now see the very popular Web browser in a 64-bit version. Android 5.0 Lollipop was the first version to support 64-bit architecture around 6 years ago, and now almost all top Android devices are well equipped to run 64-bit software.

When tried on different browser benchmarks like JetStream 2 and Octane 2.0, the 64-bit version (Chrome 85) performed better when compared to its 32-bit counterpart. This means that Chrome 85 had received several enhancements giving it a more solid performance compared to its 32-bit counterpart. This new version of the app will fix a number of performance and security issues that had plagued previous versions.

Google Chrome gets New version with improved performance

The Chrome 83, which works best with the 32-bit version, was first launched about two months ago in May. It offered updated privacy controls and also brought interface changes in Android, macOS, Windows, Linux and iOS platforms.

The new 64-bit app for Android 10 devices is expected to launch in August, though Google has not come out to make any official announcements concerning the exact time-frame we would see this new browser app.
