Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL Photos and Hands-on

The 2017 Pixel devices were launched a week ago. We got our hands on the Pixel 2 range for a brief hands-on and managed to snap a few photographs. The Pixel 2 has a 5-inch, 16:9 display, while the Pixel 2 XL has a 6-inch, bezel-less 18:9 display. Enjoy our Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL Photos and hands-on.

Both devices are well built and feel solid in the hand. With the prices they command, they should. The Pixel 2 XL is the more beautiful of the two, thanks to the edge-to-edge screen. The huge bezels on the Pixel 2 are just so…..yesterday.

We didn’t have the time to run through a lot of things, but we did manage a loudspeaker test between both of them. The smaller Pixel 2 is better sound-wise. Both are loud but the XL’s loudspeaker gets distorted at the loudest volume. Both devices have IP67 ratings for water and dust resistance.

You probably already know the advantages the Pixel range have over other Android smartphones:

  1. Pure Android OS the way the gods decreed it.
  2. Guaranteed software updates: Google has committed to three years of updates for these two.

If you had to go with one of them, which would be your choice? Please tell us it is the Pixel 2 XL! Please!
