Google releases standalone Clock app for Android

Posted by Etoniru Chibueze

In further efforts to differentiate Google’s Android from AOSP Android, Google has made the official Clock app as a standalone Android app which can be downloaded from Google Play Store. This already adds to the long list of Google apps that are differentiated from AOSP.

Google Camera, Chrome Browser, Google Photos, Google Now Launcher, Google Docs, Google Calender, Google Keyboard, etc. These separate apps allows Google to individually update apps that make up the operating system rather than for users to endlessly wait for software updates that may or may not come.
