GTBank introduces *737* Transfer, and other news we missed last week

GTBank (Guaranty Trust Bank) last week announced an innovative form of money transfer for quick cash transfer between customers called *737* Transfer. The service also facilitates transfer to other banks. Initiating transfer is easy and very similar to the One-Click Top Up service for loading airtime to phones. The new material design of WhatsApp has been polished and finally pushed to Google Play Store, so run along to Play Store to get the new update no need going to their official site.

Microsoft released a new build for Windows 10 Mobile and it came along with lots of new features highlights of which included:

  • Windows Store Beta, alongside the previous Store app.
  • A better arranged Settings menu.
  • New Music and Video Preview apps etc.

Jumia invited top Nigerian Tech bloggers in a roundtable discussion alongside OEM’s (Original Equipment Manufacturers) many of the mobile brands in the country had representatives present. We took the time out to discuss mobile trends in Nigeria, touched on What a Typical Nigerian Wants from a Mobile Phone, there was a little quiz too between the bloggers and OEM reps which ended a draw. It was a great, fact finding, interactive session, with almost everyone present appreciating Jumia for putting this together.

This event was in preparation for the Jumia Mobile Megathon coming up from the 1st of June till the 7th of June 2015, where mobile phones from various manufacturers will be sold at discount prizes on a scale (Jumia claims) Nigerians have never experienced before on the event. Lastly, it was an opportunity to interact with like minds, and the food  Oh! the food was goooodd!! 😆

  2. The day when the airtime on my phone can go to my account, then I will be happy for tech break through. As jumia big ups to them.

  3. I requested for mtn air time worth #4200 on Friday 22nd May by 7:59am my account was deducted and I got an sms alert to that effect. More than 24 hours later am yet to receive my credit. Got customer service line and I was told to wait till Tuesday. I won’t try it next time until I confirm they have gotten their acts together. I won’t be a guinea pig again
