There are two types of people in the world. There are people that can get things done without any trouble, and there are those that require some sort of push to do any task. For those folks that can’t be bothered to do their daily tasks without some encouragement (or a swift kick in the behind), there’s an app to assist you. It’s called HabitRPG, and its as much a game as an app.
The premise of HabitRPG is to award you points for completing daily tasks in real life. Here’s how it works: you create a list of habits (both good and bad), dailies (things you must do by the end of the day), and to-d- tasks (things you must accomplish eventually). Whenever you complete a daily task, you earn coins. You can level up after collecting a certain amount of coins. If you fail to complete tasks, you lose health.
Apart from making you complete tasks you wouldn’t normally do, HabitRPG brings a fun element to everyday life. If you knew you would be getting some reward after completing a task, you would do it, wouldn’t you? Granted, it’s just a bunch of virtual coins. But you’ll feel much better knowing that you completed your daily tasks. Plus, it provides positive reinforcement for positive behavior. That is the point of HabitRPG.
