I was at last Wednesday’s Innjoo launch event held at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja. It turned out to be one of the most interesting product presentations I have seen in the mobile industry in Nigeria. While our review unit of the Innjoo One 3G HD is on the way, I got to spend some time with a unit at the event and I have some photos for you.
The Innjoo One clearly derives its design inspiration – for both hardware and software – from the iPhone. Even the product presentation was inspired by Apple.
The body is built on a full metal frame and both the front and back are covered by toughened glass (Dragontrail X). Add that it is just 6.9mm thin, and you have a smartphone that is a beauty to look at and to hold.
On the software and UI front, the One runs InnJoo OS 1.0, a highly customised version of Android that looks and feels like iOS. The icons are rounded, design theme is flat and there is no app drawer, simplifying user interactions.
At first glance, the Innjoo One is a steal. With a
64-bit octa-core processor, 2GB RAM and a host of other striking features, the Innjoo One sounds like a steal for just N27,999. We shall have a full review available soon, so we can tell how it performs in everyday use.
