Hands-on Photos: Samsung Galaxy Core Prime

Posted by Mister Mobility

Yesterday, I got to spend some time with the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime. It is a dual-SIM mid-range mobile with a 4.5-inch display, running Android Kitkat 4.4.4, and powered by a Quad-core 1.2 GHz processor and 1GB RAM. There’s 8GB internal storage, a microSD card slot, a 5 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2 megapixel front-facing shooter. The battery is 2,000 mAh.

The Galaxy Core Prime is a good looking device and feels very solid in the hand. I liked it immediately. It looks and feels like it will take some beating and still remain in good shape.

TouchWiz users will love it. It works well, adding extra functionality to stock Android. Personally, I am just not a huge TouchWiz fan. Haters will hate it, of course, but it really is a question of personal preference.

Software-wise, part of the extras that Samsung has baked into the Core Prime is an Ultra Power Saving Mode, which switches the phone into a feature phone like mode to save on battery. This is something that many manufacturers now provide in their devices.

On the whole, I love the Galaxy Core Prime. It is the kind of classy and solid mobile that one would love to give out as a gift should one not want to break the bank. Enjoy more of the photographs I took from my hands-on with it:

  1. You should take a look at its elder brother. the galaxy grand prime. it looks very premium, 5inch screen snapdragon 410 with support for quick charge 2.0, you however need to get a quick charge 2.0 charger as the one that comes in box is just the regular type.

  2. How much is it? My H6 has almost the same specs and I got it for NGN19,500.

  3. abi… Samsung d over priced uselessness. all looking alike n lack lustre.

  4. Oh you’re right, once Samsung phones stopped looking like iPhones they stood out from the pack :p
