Twitter is replacing Favorites button with Likes. This basically means you’ll no longer see the star icon, rather you’ll see a “heart” showing there. The change was announced today in a blog post by Akarshan Kumar, Product Manager at Twitter.
We are changing our star icon for favorites to a heart and we’ll be calling them likes. We want to make Twitter easier and more rewarding to use, and we know that at times the star could be confusing, especially to newcomers. You might like a lot of things, but not everything can be your favorite.
The heart, in contrast, is a universal symbol that resonates across languages, cultures, and time zones. The heart is more expressive, enabling you to convey a range of emotions and easily connect with people. And in our tests, we found that people loved it.

Makes sense. They are lucky ‘Facebook’ did not patent the like button?
At first I wasn’t paying attention, but then I noticed the “heart” ad, then noticed the star was replaced by a heart.
I honestly don’t know how I feel about it. So does that mean people will now “heart” with the fear of God?
Smh. They are jes losing their uniqueness
