Can you split your monitor into two screens in Windows 10? Yes; you can split your screen in Windows 10. Here are the easy ways to go about it.

Splitting your scren is a great way to enhance your productivity if your current project or task requires you to work on multiple apps at the same time. Thankfully, Windows 10 supports this feature and allows you split your PC or laptop’s monitor into multiple screens. This is also called snapping.

Being able to split your screen on a Windows machine is not a new feature though. It has been available since the days of Windows 7. However, in addition to you being able to do it manually, Windows 10 offers a feature called Snap Assist that makes it so much easier.

  1. Choose the window you want to snap to one half of the screen, then drag it to the edge. until you see an outline, then release it and the window will snap into place, taking up one side of the screen.
  2. If you have other windows open on your screen, when you snap the first window, the PC will present you with a number of options for what to fill the other half of the screen with. Click on one to select it and it will snap into place to fill the empty space on the other side of the screen. Alternatively, repeat Step 1 for as many windows as you want. You can snap a maximum of 4 windows.

Split screen or Snap your windows using keyboard shortcuts

You can also split your screen using keyboard shortcuts, as follows:

  1. Select the window you want to move.
  2. Hit Windows Key + Left or Right and it will take up half the screen.
  3. Hit Windows Key + Up or Down to make it snap to either the upper or lower corner.
  4. Repeat this process for all 4 windows you wish to snap.

How to split your computer screen in Windows 10

Note that you can resize each window as you like as well. Sometimes you need one screen to be tall while others take a smaller size.

That is it, once you have split your screen, you can get along with work and switch seamlessly between those screens.
