Huawei has launched the Huawei Maimang 9 in China as its latest 5G smartphone. This device is the successor to the Maimang 8 which was launched in June of 2019 and features triple rear cameras with a hole-punch display design.
This dual-SIM (Nano) smartphone has the MediaTek Dimensity 800 SoC under the hood which works in tandem with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage (expandable via microSD card to 512GB). It runs the Android 10 with EMUI 10.1 on top and features a large 6.8-inch FHD+ (1080×2400 pixels) display with a 20:9 aspect ratio.
In the camera department, a 64MP main sensor headlines the triple-rear camera setup. It is ably assisted by an 8MP secondary sensor and a 2MP tertiary depth sensor. Up front, a 16MP selfie camera takes care of video calls and selfies.
The Huawei Maimang 9 has a 4,300mAh battery that supports 22.5W Super Fast Charge technology. This device is available in two storage variants, a 6GB+128GB variant that sells for $314 and an 8GB+128GB variant that costs $342. There are Cherry Blossom, Phantom Night Black and Forest Green colour options to pick from.
This device will go on sale from the 7th of August 2020 in China and is expected in a number of other markets in the coming weeks.
