Phone enthusiasts love software updates. Who wants to keep using a smartphone that is stuck in the past? Infinix Mobility has announced its line up of phones scheduled to receive Android 8 Oreo over the next few months. We have details of the phones on the Infinix Android 8 update list.


Already, a beta version of the Android 8 Oreo update is already rolling to some users. Note though that beta software tend to be very unstable and not suitable for everyday use. We advice that you wait for the proper Oreo release before updating your smartphone.

The Infinix Android 8 Update List

So, which Infinix Mobility smartphones will be getting updated to Oreo this year? Here is the list.

  1. Infinix Note 4 X572 3GB / specs / review
  2. Infinix Note 4 Pro X571 / specs / review
  3. Infinix Zero 5 X603 / specs / hands-on
  4. Infinix Zero 5 Pro

All three devices were launched running Android 7 Nougat. The Infinix Android 8 update will start rolling out in April 2018, beginning with the Note 4 3GB, and end in August 2018.


Infinix has not said anything about any other models getting Android Oreo, so it is unlikely that devices like Infinix Hot S and Infinix Hot 5 will ever get an official update.

  1. I didn’t see anything impressive in Note 4/Pro to warrant ditching my Note 3 Pro for it. So I resolved to wait for Note 5 Pro. I guess it’ll launch with Oreo and hopefully get Android P when it becomes available.

  2. Why can’t they just release this Android 8 Oreo OS for every phones to use, since “P” OS is on it’s way. This is like a cheat

  3. Android is running a speed of light, with there constant releases. I’m still getting used to Nouget. Okay we are waiting.

  4. Well, the usual craze for is updates is something of a “bandwagon” craze than substance.

    Nougat made a lot of sense unlike marshmallow.

    I feel this are more often a techies hobby than what an average user goes about looking for in buying an everyday mobile phone.
