iOS gets data compression via Opera Coast browser

Posted by MobilityArena

Opera Coast is a web browser specifically designed from the ground up for iOS devices. The app was first released for the iPad in September 2013 and for the iPhone last April and offers automatic also synchronization via iCloud.

Yesterday, the app got updated to version 4.0, and now has a new Turbo feature that uses Opera’s servers to compress images and video to improve page-load times. This is similar to what Opera browsers across other platforms have had for years.

We are not sure why someone who can afford an iPhone or iPad would be after data compression, but hey! It is a great feature.

Coast by Opera is available for free in the Apple App Store.
