It’s official!! Google releases download links for Android 6.0 Marshmallow

The long anticipated Android 6.o is finally here and Google apparently kept with their promise. Google has just posted factory images of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. This is currently only meant for Nexus devices listed below:

Android 6.0 Marshmallow

  • Nexus 5
  • Nexus 6
  • Nexus 7 (2013)
  • Nexus 9 and
  • Nexus Player

Owners of the aforementioned devices should simple head to the Google Developer Page to download and manually install Android 6.0 on their devices. For those that want it now, here’s a tutorial on how to manually install Android 6.0. Meanwhile, for the patient ones, OTA updates will be rolled out anytime from now. I wonder how long it would take for Android One devices to see this update too.

  1. probably 2/3 months +
that’s been the usual period for carrier independent Motorola phones

  2. So far I like what I have been seeing in Marshmallow, seems to be a solid update compared to Lollipop,in the same league with KitKat..

  3. Looked though an indepth review of Marshmalow, U can get 70% of the new features/design by installing/updating the Search app and installing Google Launcher.

The idea of moving key features into Google Play Services and Search is working!!!! Soon there will be little need for these major point releases.

  4. Forget Marshmallow, I’m still awaiting the Lollipop update on my unlocked 1st generation Moto G. Some people already have it and I haven’t seen it yet.
