In December 2015, the car of Mr. Michael Effiong, an Editor of the Ovation Magazine, was snatched at gun point in Maryland, Lagos. He immediately reported the theft to the Police. According to the Police’s report, Lagos State’s Rapid Response Squad (RSS) employed the use of the team’s newly acquired drones and GPS tracker. With the aid of these tools, the stolen vehicle was discovered where it was parked around an hotel and was recovered by the Police.

In case you were unaware, Lagos State RSS was recently equipped with new squad cars, vans, armoured vehicles, patrol boats, motorbikes, and aircraft to enhance their operations in the state. The image above shows a demonstration of one of the RSS drones during the handover ceremony recently.
