WhatsApp has released a new update (v2.11.169) for Android OS that lets you choose who can see your ‘Last seen’, profile photo and status message. You can let everyone see it, only your contacts see it or set it so no one can see it.
Apparently, WhatsApp has been listening to the complaints of users who have concerns about their privacy. Way to go! We look forward to seeing this feature on Windows Phone, and BlackBerry too. The iOS version of WhatsApp has had the ability to hide the Last seen status for long.
It was just this morning that Mr Mo tweeted about this and got the tip-off response:
@Mister_Mobility Maybe WhatsApp was listening? —> You can now hide "last seen" status on WhatsApp for Android http://t.co/MRrBrIpkCZ

Thanks to Muyosan for the tip-off. You can download the new version of WhatsApp here.
PS: If you have downloaded the update, to modify who can see your personal info, go to Settings -> Account -> Privacy.
