Yesterday in a press release, Nokia announced they have partnered with LG to licence them some of their patents. The smartphone related patents are stated to include Nokia’s 2G, 3G and 4G mobile communication technologies.
Ramzi Haidamus, President of Nokia Technologies had this to say:
“We are pleased to welcome LG Electronics to our licensing program,” said Ramzi Haidamus, President of Nokia Technologies. “We’ve worked constructively with LG Electronics and agreed a mutually beneficial approach, including the use of independent arbitration to resolve any differences. This agreement sets the scene for further collaboration between our companies in future.”
Further details of this deal is under wraps, but we believe that it’s something that duly benefits both parties. LG is the first company to enter into such partnership with Nokia since their Microsoft acquisition.
