Nokia got back in mobile manufacturing earlier this year. What many did not know was that HMD Global also acquired the rights to the Lumia Camera UI (user interface). And now, HMD Global says that this camera app may be coming to Nokia Android smartphones soon.
What Is Special About The Lumia Camera UI?
Lumia owners will be familiar with the user interface. It is easy to use, intuitive, and with extensive options for the more professionally inclined shutterbugs.
The details are hazy, but HMD Global says that the camera app for Nokia Android smartphones will be updated when those devices get Android 8 Oreo. Beta builds of the update are already available for Nokia 8 and will be out for other devices in Nokia’s lineup.
Nokia made a name for itself in smartphone photography right from the Symbian OS era, through its Windows Phone OS alliance, and clearly still hopes to continue the legacy with its new range of Android-powered smartphones. I say, Bring it on!
