Marshmallow Update for Infinix Note 2 now available OTA

Posted by

It was just a few days ago that we reported that Android 6 Marshmallow software update was now available for the Infinix Note 2, but only via manual download and installation. As at this morning, users of the phone are receiving OTA (over-the-air) update notifications.

OTA update means the update file is downloaded and installed directly by the phone. If you are an Infinix Note 2 user and have been waiting for this, you should get a prompt at any moment.

Thanks, Kay, for the quick tip!

  1. Good to see Infinix promptly updating their non Flagships to the latest OS version, that’s a good show of faith to their old and potential customers…

    1. @Donbenie Which phones are the Infinix “flagships” if Note 2 isn’t a part? I might be wrong but the only Infinix device I know to be more expensive and with better specs than this device is the Zero 3…No?

  2. Mr Mo. I’m surprised no one seems to be sharing their experience with Gionee’s S Plus. It seems to offer similar specs to the Note 2 albeit with a smaller & AMOLED screen, DTS and USB Type C.
Major downside would be lack of constant updates as with Infinix.
    Reviews please!

    1. Hi David, I don’t think anyone on the Mobility team have gotten their hands on the S Plus. If we do get one, you can be sure we will publish a review, or at worst, a hands-on post.
