Aston Martin cars are generally known for their elegant design, despite their somewhat lowly status among luxury cars. The 2017 Aston Martin DB11 does not deviate from this trend, possessing the appearance of a big-budget attempt from the low-volume luxury car maker. This vehicle does have features one would normally expect from a much bigger car maker.
The 2017 Aston Martin DB11 boasts of a slew of technological achievements, which include the twin-turbocharged V-12 engine with cylinder deactivation. This vehicle competes against a lot of ultra-luxury tourers, such as the Ferrari GTC4 Lusso, Bentley Continental GT and the Maserati GranTurismo. The most striking characteristic in this regard is the appearance, which is a bold statement of style.
In terms of performance, the 2017 Aston Martin DB11 boasts a 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged V-12 engine, which produces 600 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. This is about 10 pounds lighter than the 6.0 V-12 engine from the DB9, and the compact design of the vehicle helps set the engine back 3.3 inches behind the front wheels for better weight distribution.
Inside the vehicle is just as classy as the exterior. There is an abundance of leather and electronics, high-quality materials which do adequate justice to the $212,000 price tag on the vehicle. There are two rear seats, even though it is likely that those won’t be used very often. Also, Aston Martin states that it created sonic identities for its new cars. Thus, the vehicle has a distinctive tone, sound and feel for every surface and indicator.
There is no data yet on the safety of the vehicle. However, there are some safety features built-in. for example, there are six-piston calipers on 15-7-inch rotors in front, and four-piston calipers on 14.1-inch rotors in the back, which help stop the car from its highest speeds. There is a standard complement of traction systems which help keep the car on the road, and a set of eight standard airbags.
Apart from the lack of safety information, there’s not much to be disappointed in about the 2017 Aston Martin DB11.
