Microsoft will bring back the “Start menu” in Windows 9

The release of Windows 9 a.k.a “Threshold” draws near,and more and more screen shots are been revealed. One of them shows the return of the classic Start menu that everyone has been accustomed to on previous OS versions.


A couple of new features are also going to be added to the upcoming OS. One to look out for is the ability to open, use apps and view them in windowed mode and a couple of desktop workspaces to help switch in between programs easily.

There will also be a notification centre like in mobile phones, but there will be no charms bar this time around. The shortcut to search will be located right next the Start menu as seen in the image above.
