Today in 2020, we use apps without even thinking about them. Not so long ago, perhaps no more than 4 or 5 years, eating in meant cooking a meal for the family. Nowadays, there are so many different apps such as Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Just Eat on which you can place an order for virtually any cuisine which will be delivered to your door, often in less than half an hour from order. Who needs to cook a meal when there is an app for that.

Retail businesses have really taken apps to their proverbial business heart. So much so that the rapid increase of online shopping and app usage has led to a lot of high profile high street companies that are either in trouble or have shut stores as footfalls in brick and mortar stores have fallen to all time lows, the result of pro-rata increases in online shopping.
